One which is English, a 24hr ‘La Tienda’ (shop), spotless butchers, bakery offering fresh bread, newsagent, 2 or 3 banks, 3 hairdressers, quaint gift shops, post-office (correos), school, very large Multi-Sport Centre, tobacconist, Bodega Wine merchants and an extremely well-stocked pharmacy. You will also find the local Doctor here also.
For those that want to do a bit more shopping on a larger scale you can visit Albatera or Aspe which are the nearest towns. The Mountain drive to Albatera is breath-taking along with the views over-looking Costa Blanca South. It is almost worth the trip just for the majestic landscapes.
Market days are held in the villages every Wednesday and on Saturday in Nieves. You will find the indoor weekday market that sells all fresh local produce. The atmosphere on a Saturday is lovely and very welcoming with all the villagers purchasing weekend supplies. Locals meet for al-fresco dining and drinking at the many cafes, bars and restaurants in the Plaza (main square).
